Loch Raven Reservoir, MD

Loch Raven Reservoir is one of Maryland's hidden treasures. Well known to some of the local residents and overlooked by most, this is one of the most beautiful spots in God's great creation. Not only does this location have astonishing scenery but it is also has a depth of history. This man-made reservoir was once the town of Warren, now flooded in to provide Baltimore County with its drinking water.
Home to trail runners, mountain-bikers, hikers, dog walkers, fisherman, etc. this site offers everything for the outdoor adventurer. I just bought a pair of trail running shoes to expand my Loch Raven horizons but my primary love is dog-walking. The sunsets are beautiful, the dogs love to explore and swim, and its great exercise.
I could spend a couple of hours on the trail every day of the week and love it.
